Lichen is a special organism which consists of both fungi and algae. This makes it different from both plants and mushrooms. One consequence is that a lichen can have many strange forms. These have a kind of cup or trumpet form and belongs to a family of lichen called Cladonia (in Norwegian rødbegerlav).
